A recent study done by Olay experimented with identifying factors that effected the aging process among women. Conclusions showed that women who held a positive attitude towards themselves were 30% more likely to age gracefully than women with a negative self-image!
Scientists have also proven a link between stress and acne flare-ups. The more stressed an individual is, the more likely it is for increased acne severity. It’s also been shown stress can be compromising to our skin’s barrier function which in turn can cause dehydration to the skin and weaken the skin’s ability to repair itself.

Thinking positively about yourself holds SO much power. When you begin loving yourself and growing in confidence, your skin will begin to reflect that by appearing more clear and radiant. Repeat uplifting affirmations to yourself throughout each day to reach your skin care goals and/or other personal goals. Affirmations can be as simple as, “I am beautiful”, “I have glowing skin”, or “My skin has never been clearer”.
Although results may not come over night, this life-changing effort to think positively of yourself will be working in your favor. Whatever speaks to you, go with your gut and get to loving yourself!
The older I get, the more I’m reminded that getting enough sleep is vital to maintaining younger-looking, supple skin. Research shows lack of quality sleep can actually age you by 10 years! Um, no thank you!
Be aware of HOW you are sleeping as well. Sleeping on your back is ideal seeing that side or stomach sleepers tend to have more fine lines and wrinkles on one particular side of the face due to their skin being pressed against a pillow for hours at a time, every night.
Don’t forget to wash your pillow cases on the reg to avoid potential breakouts from accumulated bacteria, dirt, and oil!
